HMS Calcutta (D82) was a British light cruiser under which The keel was laid in October 1917, and the launch took place in July 1918. In general, however, a series of solid and rather successful cruisers was created. HMS Calcutta (D82) was built at the Vickers Limited shipyard in Barrow-in-Furness in the North West of England. The unit did not take part in World War I, and in the interwar period it operated mainly in the Atlantic, including today's South Africa and the Caribbean Sea.
